The Mini Masterpieces exhibition is all about inspiring Shropshire’s youth to express themselves through art. The Gateway Gallery is asking anyone aged 16 or under to submit a postcard-sized piece of art based on the topic of ‘My Shropshire’, whether that’s a person, pet, garden, or landmark. All entries will be displayed at the Gateway Gallery, Chester Street, Shrewsbury. As well as having the opportunity to have their artwork displayed in a gallery, there will be People’s Choice and Panel’s Choice prizes awarded in each age category.

The age categories are as follows:

5-7, 8-11, 12-16

How to enter

The topic is ‘My Shropshire’ – what Shropshire means to you – this could be a person, a pet, part of a garden, a section the river, a landmark, a memory or experience etc.

There are three age groups:
5-7
8-11
12–16

The entry can be in any medium, but it must be created on a blank postcard or a piece of paper equivalent to postcard dimensions (6×4 inches).

Submission

Entries should be sent to the gallery (or hand delivered) by Friday 7th June 2024.

Entries must have the following details written clearly in pen on the back of the artwork:

• Full name of the child
• Child’s age
• Title of the artwork or ‘Untitled’
• Email address

There will be blank postcards provided in the gallery but you can use anything as long as it is postcard size (6×4″ or 10x15cm) – these will be available to pick up during opening times from inside the gallery.

A donation box will be available and donations will be gratefully received during the Arts Trail and all proceeds will go towards organising future arts engagement opportunities for young people.
